I started homeschooling in the fall of 2009. It was my mom's idea initially. I was just going to try doing kindergarten with my oldest son for a year. After that, it was going to be public school. That is what I knew, that is what I felt comfortable with. No one close to me homeschooled, and it felt a little scary. But, how badly can you screw up kindergarten, right? The surprising part was that I actually enjoyed it. We had some rough days, but for the most part, I ended the year feeling like I might want to try first grade, too. And maybe, just maybe, I could add in a few preschool things for my little Graham. Somewhere along the way, I am not sure where, it became our lifestyle. And by "we" I truly mean not only myself, but my husband and children. It is truly something I cannot imagine NOT doing now. The purpose of this blog is to record and share our homeschooling journey. There may be some things I post I am proud of (but it is NEVER my intention to make anyone feel bad that they are doing something different or that they don't "measure up" in any way.). There may be even more things I post that I am not. But I want to keep it real. This is our life.
